Setting up and running a hotel requires a lot of effort, involving many different aspects. Of course, in order for a hotel to be able to make a profit and meet the needs of its customers, it is essential that the right foundations are in place.
In order to achieve the desired results, it is not always possible to find the perfect path; however, there are some tips that are useful for everyone and, if followed to the best of one's ability, can bring benefits on many fronts.
How to increase your accommodation business
There is a lot of work to be done, but there are some aspects that cannot be overlooked. Here are some steps to follow to improve the business of an accommodation business:
1. Experience. Nowadays, what is important to achieve a hotel's growth objectives is certainly to work on the structure itself from an experiential point of view, capable of making the difference between a structure that offers services and one that is remembered for what the customer experiences during their stay. It is therefore necessary to build experiences, which will involve both the employees and the customers, who will be the final recipients of all the services offered.
2. Training. Among the many steps that must not be forgotten, there is certainly the one related to staff training, which must be carried out properly. Training must be continuous and constant, guaranteed for all employees, in each department and should ideally be combined with a reward system, which contributes to making staff feel motivated to give their best and leads to achieving certain goals and building up valuable experience. In hotels, in fact, one does not only go there to sleep, but also to eat, use the spa or other services and generally have an experience. A well-trained and motivated staff is the first calling card for any establishment and, if well managed, also the guarantee of guest return.
3. Organisation. Considering the great importance of training, it is necessary for establishments to organise themselves so that a suitable staff rota is devised, which also takes into account the training times of employees and staff in general. In this regard, it is imperative that establishments draw up a schedule to enable their staff and employees to carry out suitable and continuous training - during working hours, of course - because when a team member is engaged in training, they are doing their job to enable the hotel to produce more.
Business and hospitality: why does training affect the in-house experience?
Having received good training allows you, first of all, to know what kind of experience you want your customer to have. An example: when a customer is greeted and suggested to book a dinner or cocktail at a restaurant, it is important that the staff offering the service knows how to perfectly describe the dishes, cocktails and products that will be consumed at the restaurant.
Adequate training is therefore one that enables the staff (all staff) to become thoroughly familiar with the product the establishment offers, but also with all the hotel services, which then translate into customer experience.
Being able to count on a team that is adequately trained, capable, motivated and fully aware of the customer experience to be provided, is therefore the ideal recipe for accompanying a hotel (or a hospitality business) towards success and a growing business.
