The metaverse as a driver in the choice of a tourist destination. A tool full of potential for an ever-expanding market share and an increasingly technology-oriented generation.

Lake Como, which has always been one of the most popular destinations for national and international tourism, earns a starring role thanks to the revolutionary project implemented by Connected Reality in collaboration with Hotel San Giorgio di Lenno. A unique and immersive experience that, the creators guarantee, 'redefines the concept of hospitality'.

Metaverse by the lake

Thanks to a team of experts in immersive technologies, the South Tyrolean company worked closely with the Larian facility. A real 'virtual magic' emerged, which I wanted to experience first-hand. When visitors access the Hotel San Giorgio's 3D site, they are greeted by an extraordinary experience that combines the charm of historical architecture with the innovation of modern technology. Through the virtual reality Rea, you can explore the outdoor details, common areas and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Lake Como, all from the comfort of your own home.

However, the experience does not end with a visit to the facility. The virtual guest has the opportunity to impersonate a fascinating virtual avatar and take part in a fun treasure hunt inside the hotel. The objective is to find five hidden objects in the outdoor area of the virtual hotel. A stimulating way to combine the charm of traditional Larian hospitality with cutting-edge technology, but also an incentive. The 'virtual treasure' not only offers the pleasure of competition and discovery, but also rewards participants with the opportunity to experience the 'real' hotel with exclusive discounts.

Toasting the future

Virtual tours and treasure hunts are, however, only a 'snack' for fans of the metaverse. In its cradle territory, the Bolzano-based company took care of another ambitious project, linked to the event 'THE FUTURE OF WINE'. Realised in collaboration with Wine HUNTER HUB, this project was attended by renowned wine experts. From the organisation to the launch, from the sale of e-tickets to participation... Every single aspect of this event was strongly 'future-connected' and geared towards raising interest in a tourist destination that has much to offer.

Creativity, technology and collaboration. Three key words that not only characterised the two projects, but which every company, especially in the tourism sector, should make their own in order to grow and increase competitiveness.

To have the courage to embrace progress and innovation, and not to see them as threats, means being able to meet the challenges that the hospitality sector continually poses to us. Above all, it shows that Tourism knows how to look to the future.
